Closing for a fortnight in January

We shut from the second to the sixteenth. It is the only two weeks of the year the building is empty, and everything that cannot be done around guests happens then: the extraction gets stripped, the dining room floor is sanded and re-oiled, and the boiler is looked at by somebody who understands it better than we do.

If you were hoping for those dates, the week before and the week after are usually the quietest and cheapest of the whole year, and the coast in January is worth more than people give it credit for.
